2025 Annual Appeal Post: Building Something Bigger Together

Our Partnerships within the Upstate

Cliffs Glassy CRO volunteering at
The 2025 Spartanburg County School Challenge at TopGolf

Michael Pius, PGA Executive Director says, “We are incredibly grateful to The Cliffs at Glassy CRO for their continued commitment to First Tee in 2025. Their generous support—totaling more than $45,000—goes far beyond financial contributions. The Glassy CRO members have shown up in meaningful ways by volunteering at our Spartanburg County Public School Team Challenge at Topgolf and supporting our ongoing programming at Greer Golf and Links O’Tryon. Their partnership helps us create impactful experiences where young people build confidence, character, and life skills through the game of golf. We are proud to have The Cliffs at Glassy CRO alongside us in advancing our mission.”

Player Development

Watson Links year end golf match at The Cliffs — Mountain Park

This year, our participants elevated their game through a powerful new partnership with Watson Links, the youth golf mentoring program founded by eight-time major champion Tom Watson.

The Impact:

  • 8 First Tee juniors paired with 6 dedicated mentors.
  • 8 separate play days bridging the gap between practice and play.

Watson Links is dedicated to breaking down barriers—cost, access, and knowledge—by providing free nine-hole rounds for juniors (ages 10–18). This initiative doesn’t just develop lifetime golfers; it fosters meaningful, character-building relationships that last well beyond the 9th hole.

2025 STEMLinks Camp

The 2025 STEMLinks Camp took students to Greenville Country Club — Chanticleer Course, where they got an insider’s view of the new Beau Welling Design and learned about the innovative process of golf course design.

This summer’s STEMLinks camp, funded by the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation, gave campers an eye-opening week at the intersection of science and sport.

From dissecting the physics of the golf swing to exploring equipment technology and the complexities of course design, participants discovered how engineering, innovation, and nature come together to create the game they love.
