Once again the County Amateur Championships will benefit the mission of The First Tee of the Upstate!
Dates: Women's & Senior Men's -- June 21st & 22nd -- Woodfin Ridge Golf Club
- Women's Division is open to all women who live or their home club is in Spartanburg County
- Senior Men's Division is open to all men 50 years of age or older at the time of the event who live or their home club is in Spartanburg County

Congratulations to Brian Kennedy who shot a final round 3-under 69 at Woodfin Ridge that provided a one-shot victory at 4 under par besting Bobby Newman and first-round co-leader Tony McKinney and Doug Ramey. Kennedy, the 2004 men’s county winner, joins Barry Black, Butch Genoble and Stan Sill as the only players to win both the county men’s and seniors events. Roger Page won the men’s super seniors title by one at 5 under. The Super Senior Division is made up of age 65 and older competitors playing from a forward set of tees. Congratulations to Pan Paksanont for winning the Overall Women’s Championship with a total score of (146). Stephanie Van Inwagen took home the Senior Championship with a total score of (164). Our Net Champion finished with a net score of (131), Ashton Thomas.
Junior Boys & Girls -- June 26th & 27th -- Three Pines Country Club
- Junior Boys and Girls Division is open to youth golfers that have the ability to complete 36 holes of golf in two days (scores range from under par to 100). This is a fun event, but also competitive. Golfers will receive SCJGA points based on their finish in the tournament. Juniors can not be out of high school or older than 19 years of age.

Congratulations to Anika Rana for winning the Girls Division of The Junior Spartanburg County Amateur with a 36-hole total of 149. Daniel Brasington came back from three shots back to win by three with a (-10) total score of 134. Great playing Daniel! The Top 5 Players qualified for The Men's Spartanburg County Amateur at The Carolina Country Club (July 12-14); Barrett Josey (scorecard playoff), Andrew Gregory, Trey Howard, Nathan Frank and Daniel Brasington. Congratulations to Matt Carter for winning The 47th Annual Spartanburg County Amateur Golf Championship. Matt opened the event with a bogey free round and finished the 54 hole championship with the best round of the tournament to go wire to wire for the win. Carter fired a 6-under par 66 to claim the County title by 6-shots at The Carolina Country Club.
