What is Operation 36?

Operation 36 is a developmental golf program designed to guide a beginner from playing their first round, to shooting par or better for 9 holes. When following the model, you will begin from 25 yards away from the pin on the green, with a goal of playing 9 holes of golf in less than 36 shots (4 shots per hole). Once you shoot 36 or better, you move on to the next division which is a further distance away from the hole. The end goal in golf is shooting 36 from the furthest back tees on the golf course for your skill level!

First Tee — Upstate South Carolina Op36 Monthly Challenge

Starting in May 1st, we will be starting a challenge that will span over the entire month. To earn points for the challenge you will need to earn points on the Op36 App. Earning points is simple, all you need to do is log playing an Op36 round from your division, going to the driving range to practice, practicing at home, or even watching the PGA or LPGA Tour on TV! You can also earn extra points for playing in our Official Operation 36 Play-Days detailed at the bottom of the page.

At the end of each month in the Summer and Fall we will reward the Top 3 participant point getters and their families.

Operation 36 Play Days

Join us for an exciting Operation 36 Play Day on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4:30–6:30 PM at 3’s Greenville!

We’re thrilled to offer this special opportunity to play on the first three holes of 3’s exclusive members-only practice facility — a big thank you to 3’s for their support! This event is capped at the first 18 registrants, so be sure to sign up early.

During the Play Day, we’ll briefly review the Operation 36 app (please download it ahead of time!) and explore ways you can continue participating in Op36 outside of our structured events.

There will be no food provided, so please bring your golf clubs, a bottle of water, and any snacks you may need. We look forward to seeing you on the course and continuing your journey toward shooting par (36) or better for 9 holes!
