Overview

On Thursday, October, 22nd, we had nine teams made up of three donors and one First Tee participant compete for The Core Values Cup! Each donor was asked to raise at least $500 by asking ten friends, colleagues and/or family members for $50 each! Also, this year we will be asking our First Tee participants to try to raise $100 before the event. Congratulations to our top donors listed below: Donor: Charles Warren raised $1,400 Participant: Hayden Kelowitz raised $815

Congratulations to the winners of The 6th Annual Core Values Cup from left to right; Davis Sezna, Kyle Thompson, First Tee — Upstate South Carolina Birdie Level Participant Mercy Santerini and Charles Warren! The team raised $2,475 for a total of 8 points and carded 77 points as a team to win by two points!

Live Scoring

The competition's format was a stableford format, meaning that each player played their own ball and designated a point value for their score on that hole:
  • Bogey = 1 point
  • Par = 2 points
  • Birdie = 4 points
  • Hole-in-one = 8 points
Remember, this event is not only about the golf but also a fundraiser! Meaning a point value was given to each player based on how much money they raised and that was be added to the final score:
  • Donor raises at least $400 = 1 point / Participant raises $80 = 1 point
  • At least $500 = 2 points / Participant $100 = 2 points
  • At least $1,000 = 4 points / Participant $150 = 4 points
  • At least $2,000 = 8 points / Participant $200 = 8 points
The Core Values Cup is a unique event for our donors and participants of First Tee — Upstate South Carolina. This gives our participants the opportunity to use the interpersonal skills that they learn during their classes. It also gives our donors an opportunity to see the mission of First Tee in action firsthand! Our total goal is to raise over $14,400 for the mission of the First Tee - Upstate South Carolina.
